Policy & Procedures


UCSF Health maintains an Ergonomics Policy to reduce the frequency and severity of work-related musculoskeletal injuries. The Program's scope includes:

  • Identifying high-risk work activities or environments that could result in work-related musculoskeletal disorders including repetitive motion injuries.
  • Evaluation of workstation environments and job tasks.
  • Implementation of interventions to reduce the severity and number of injuries.
  • Training on ergonomics principles and safe work practices.
  • Injury investigation to identify the causes using workstation evaluations or ergonomic job analysis processes when applicable.
