PG&E Public Safety Power Shutoff

During times of extreme heat or red flag conditions, your local energy company may turn off power to help mitigate the risk of a wildfire in your area. This is known as a Public Safety Power Shutoff, a program coordinated by PG&E.

You can prepare for a power outage by:

  • Creating a safety plan for all members of your household (including pets). Plan for medications or devices that need to be refrigerated or require power.
  • Building or restocking your emergency supplies
  • Buying backup charging methods for cell phones
