The Environment of Care includes Safety and Injury/Illness Prevention, Emergency Management, Fire/Life Safety, Security Management, Hazardous Materials and Waste Management, Medical Equipment Management, and Building Utilities Management - disciplines that support the population of healthcare workers who are identified as the people most instrumental in providing value-added work for UCSF Health.
The Environment of Care (EC) Committee is composed of representatives from various departments across all disciplines at UCSF Health. The Committee oversees all EC activities. It is committed to promote a safe, functional, and supportive environment within the hospital in order to preserve quality of care and safety, and to ensure compliance with all regulatory and accreditation standards.
