SPHM Training Requirements

SPHM Training is required for all UCSF staff who have job duties that require providing patients with physical assistance.  

There are two required components of SPHM Training:
1) UCSF Safe Patient Handling Training V1.0 - Online training; must be completed at hire and annually.
2) Equipment hands-on training on all lift equipment in your work area; must be completed at hire, annually, when new equipment is introduced, and when you transfer to an area with different equipment.

Equipment Competency & Course Overview

The UCSF SPHM Program developed standardized curriculum for each minimal lift equipment and sling.  The course content and competency evaluation forms are available upon request through MCSS Help Desk>SPH. 
 

Equipment Training Request

  • Ambulatory Care Clinics: Contact Ambulatory Clinical Operations Team
